Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Family owned, sweet people, very passionate about their heritage foods and background. The wine and dessert were good. These were some items I sampled during a food tour.

Long time authentic Greek restaurant with old charm and delicious food! This is such a nice spot to get authentic Greek and right next to the cultural district. I have ate here a couple times and the food is always delicious. The owner/head chef Cristos greets you, takes your order and loves to tell stories and answer questions. He was once a personal chef to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. If you’re looking for great food and a charming atmosphere with character this is the place!

TL;DR: Christos is the real deal. Lively atmosphere, incredible homemade Greek food, and an owner who treats everyone like family. Christos: A Pittsburgh Classic That Still Has It Christos has been around for 40 years, and after eating there, it’s easy to see why. The place is full of life with people laughing, plates breaking, and shouts of β€œOpa!” filling the air. The owner was everywhere at once, making sure everyone was happy and taken care of, which honestly set the tone for the whole meal. I started with the cold sampler platter for one, and it was perfect for getting a little taste of everything: creamy hummus, fresh tzatziki, tabbouleh, taramosalata, and a stuffed grape leaf that actually had flavor. The chicken kabobs came with an incredible avgolemono, traditional Greek salad (try it with anchovies), rice, and veggies, some we're simple but all was done really well. The chicken was juicy, the potatoes were beautifully seasoned, and the soup was homemade in a way that warmed the soul. And the cake. Seriously, don’t skip the cake. It’s rare to find a restaurant that still feels this personal after four decades. Christos isn’t trying too hard or chasing trends; it’s just
